Fall Term

Hello every one:)  how are you doing? I hope that your break was relaxing and full of family and friends. I had  2 weeks off, and now its back to class tonight.. I am hoping that this term is way better then the last. Many changes, and many people angry, so lets hope this term is much better then the last. Looking forward to seeing some old faces, and maybe making some new friends.
 I must say that my break was very eventful, but not in a good way. Children can be a handful even if they are over the age of 21. I think its harder to be a parent now then when they were younger. you cant tell them what to do anymore, and they now can choose not to listen or even talk to you.  I just hope that things change for the better for her and she gets the help that she needs.
Falls here!!!! and that can mean only one thing..... THE WALKING DEAD!!!! I am so excited that the show will be back on very soon, and its been a very long 6 months with out it!!! Bring on the zombies!!!!

Teacher changes

Hey everyone.
  I hope school is going good for all of you. As many of you are aware.. a favorite teacher was let go a few  weeks ago, and some of us students are still not exactly sure how to feel about all of this change.
I know that I usually don't like change.. never have really as its always been hard for me to readapt to situations. This one is no exception .. Only time will tell, right.. 

Fall is coming:)  My favorite time of year!!!  I know that this will sound wonky, but I can see little sutble changes already.. before you know it, it will be time for pumpkins and The Walking Dead!!!!!!

Been over a month.. is anyone still reading?

Well hello everyone. How have you been doing? keeping up with the blogging?? As you can see, I haven't , but I am going to try and keep with it. Why not, right..
How are your current classes going? Mine are so far, so good. Was happy that we were released early on July 3rd for Red hot and boom. Seems like it will be a decent class.
I now have to write 3 informative blogs for a class that I am in, and will be 30 percent of my class grade. I have already started that, and getting great a response from the professor, so that's all good, right?!
well, I am going to keep this short, as I am working on current homework that is due soon..

So, I thought tonight was the last night of class... boy, was I wrong lol

This will be the last blog needed for this class. What to write about since I had already written a blog and though it was the last night. Silly me. lol .

Orange is the New Black.
Do you watch this Netflix show? Just recently, the second season was available for streaming and I think its 13 episodes. I am already half way through it and cant wait to finish. Will have to wait and see how this one ends to know if they will end up doing a third season. I love the show that much, that I hope they do. But, that's just little ole me saying this. It's not for the faint of heart but it makes me lol all the time. and the scheming going on, I bet it really is just that way. But I don't want to know any of this first hand. not unless it's at this very prison with these same girls!

Once Upon a Time.
 Who doesn't love fairy tales? I love this show and how they have found a different way to reinvent all of the fairy tales we grew up watching. Now we wait till October for the 4th season, and I do have to wonder how the will incorporate Elsa from Frozen. I don't see her in anyway as a villain, so it will definitely be interesting to say the least!

The Walking Dead.
WOW!!! this is now my all time favorite show on tv, and I like it was better then my old favorite, The Dukes of Hazzard!! Tee hee.  what's not to love about a post apocalyptic world where the dead come back to eat the living!The story line is awesome, and easy to stay with, but if you are also a fan of the comic books, you see that they do find small ways to incorporate that with the tv show as well. I say watch it!!! but again, this is not for the faint of heart, and some scenes are hard to watch, but on the plus side, its more gore then sex! pick your poison!

Last day of class for this class

Last week of school for the spring classes. I for one and excited to have a break after these classes. This has been a tough few weeks, and now that this school is changing things up, I am now worried that I am going to face all this issues I had in the last school I attended. I mean, how many years does a person need to go to school for the same thing??? I mean really. When I inquired about this school last August, My student advisor was peppy and if I had any questions, or needed anything, she was there. I should have known something was up when I went to talk to her one day, and I was told that she was no here. That pissed me off. Some one should have said something to me about it, and then tell me who I could talk to. Still don't have an answer to that one. Then before long, our department chairs are gone, and then people here and there, and the school starts changing shit around. To me, that's another red flag, and I am at a point that I am not sure I want to even finish. I have been down this road before, and looks and sounds the same... AGAIN... and its really pissing me the f*ck off. GRRRRRR...

So, this is the last Monday blog that I will need to do for this class. I hope that I can remember to keep at it and keep following all that I am now so far. It's a small way to know what people are still up too. Maybe I will keep it so that I have a way to vent, and others on here just might relate to what I am going through. So what that being said, its been nice knowing many of you, and I wish you all success in the rest of your schooling, and hope that you get what you are working for. Me? I will have to consider it, but its not a total loss as of yet.

Enjoy this last day, and when you get out the end of the week, have a kick ass vacation while out of school.

When shit hits the fan...

Well happy Friday everyone. The weekend is here. What will you be doing for fun? Anything exciting?? Well as for  me and my family, I try not to make so many plans in advance, because these days, I just don't know where I might end up. Its seems that every one in my family is getting sicker as each day passes, and its really wearing me out. I don't like to miss school for any reason, and these past few weeks, I have, because even I was sick one day.. uuug! My husband has been sick most of this year, and after many, many doctors visits, we still don't know what's wrong with  him. We are hoping for some positive results next month when he goes to the Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville. With all of this, he missed 3 months of work, and we fell behind on everything, and even had a wedding to plan. That came together nicely, thanks from the generosity of his family from Connecticut. Getting him back to work has made him  feel a bit better, but doesn't take away the other issues wrong with him. We will find out soon, and get moving ahead with our lives.

 MY Mom is also not doing very well, and now with her husband in a nursing home, its just getting worse for her. This saddens me to know end because I just cant do anything . I love my mother, and she's my world, and I am not ready to loose her just yet!!! I hope that I will get a chance to go and visit with her really soon, because after the past few stressful weeks I have had, I need a big mom hug!!!! so, if you happen to be reading this... Go and hug your mom!!! She will love you all the more for it!!!

being sick sucks...

Hey everyone...

    as you can probably tell, I am not in class tonight... I have a spring cold that's kicking my ass lol.. nose wont stop running and I just feel like I was hit by the Sunrail train... tee hee.. Yeah, just poking fun since the trains now been in service for 2 weeks and already hit 2 cars.. all I can say is get off the tracks.. I mean come on.. Car VS. Train... Train will always win.. just saying. Now as for being sick... well, When  the teacher saw me tonight, bringing in my homework, she asked if it needed to be sanitized , lol. I am not in the habit of making others sick, and so my code of never missing school... well.. shit happens right. I don't want to be sick. I hate it. I know other people do as well, so it was easier for me to just drop off my work, and leave. I wouldn't want to sit in class with some one who could be contagious, would you??? Thank you. Yeah, I am a nice person when I want to be, but I know many of you have small children, and could make your lives hell, so I just left. Its was the right thing to do. But, I hate missing class.. you always miss something important. GRRR.. This is not the only class this week I have missed because of being sick. I missed my A& P class, and I know I am going to be hating life because of it. Ms. Macks class is not an easy one but to miss a test , too.. wow, I am in trouble now lol. anyway,.. off to take more cold medicine and hope that I am feeling better really soon cause I cant keep missing class. what happened to my last blog?

I had written one. I know I did. I wasn't feeling well when I wrote it, but I know that I did. I guess its somewhere on here.. owell..
Being sick really sucks. I hate spring colds. They know how to really take it out of you! Thank goodness I am feeling better these days, but wow. I sure don't want to get sick again anytime soon!! Enough is enough!

How was your week? My was pretty busy, but I wont go in to details. Just glad that its almost to the weekend, and then its party time!! Do you have plans for the holiday? Me?? Not yet, , well yeah I do.. lol My husband and I are hosting a pot luck at our home on Sunday, and I am looking forward to that. Its always great to have family and friends come over and have a great time! Guess I get get started on the house cleaning.

Will be going to the farmers market on Sunday morning. WE like the Maitland one and the breeze that comes off the lake while walking around it! Time to get some new veggies for the week. And as for Monday?? Not sure yet, but I am sure there will be many activities to be found.

Mothers Day.. did you talk to your mother?

Happy Monday.

  So, yesterday was mothers day. My mom is in not so well of health that she told me not to come and visit her yesterday. She lives in St. Cloud, so it would only have been about a 45 min drive for us. So, I called her instead and we talked for a bit. I am the oldest of 6 children, and I was the only one to call her on Mothers day. Yep.. just lil ole me... while on the other hand, my younger sister, who lives literally down the street from her did not call, nor did she go and visit her. Why you may ask?? I sure as shit don't know, but when I found out that she would rather instead, visit with her boyfriends mother, I became so angry, that I wanted to call her out on it and ask her why she has nothing to do with our mother?! I can only assume that we just don't fit in to her materialistic world, and that my mom is poor. Yeah, I am making assumptions, but I am allowed to. My moms in poor health and we are the only two who are remotely close to her and I am the only one who takes time to just call and say "I love you, Mom." Now my brothers may live out of state, but that is no reason NOT to call your mom, period. I am fed up with my no good family, and sometimes wish I had been born an only child. Really.. I mean come on.. This is the woman who gave birth to you, loved you, even had to let you go for a period of time, but she was always there, and she still is. You just need to give her a call. I know her time is short on this earth, and I really don't want to be the bitchy big sister when she passes, but at this point, I will have every right to be just that. I love my mom. And I do what I can for her, even in its smallest measure, but to live so close and have no contact at all.. there's absolutely no excuse for that. Really! anyway.. rant over.

I hope that all of you had a great day with your mom and I hope that above all she heard I love you more then once from her children!

Kenny came home and Cathy's 50th Birthday party

Good Afternoon everyone.

  I see you survived another Florida weekend. I know that I did. As usual, I didn't do anything on Friday night. But come Saturday, I had plans for the whole day. Kenny came home just for the weekend to BBQ For us as well help celebrate his older sisters birthday. I mean, how many times do you turn 50? Kenny is a truck driver, so we are lucky if we get to see him 2 times a year. But with out people like him, we wouldn't have many of our every day items come in to the local stores. So Thank a trucker!

Food On the grill at noon.. well, the ribs anyway because they need to slow cook for hours.(they were AWESOME!!!) Many family and friends streamed in as the day flowed on. It was a nice despite the hovering clouds and the little misting they gave us here and there. Still all in all, the food was outstanding!!!People were pretty awesome too!

Before long, its time to cram about 40 people in to Mama Rene's Dining room to sing Happy Birthday to Cathy!! Next came the Roketa cake fight! Only one Rokate kid came out clean of cake frosting. Celebrating 50 years on the wild earth deserves a wild party!! Love ya Cathy!!! Happy Birthday again!

Farmers Markets

Hello all. Hope your weekends were fun and eventful. Saturday my husband suggested that we go to the farmers market in Lake Mary, so we went. Its been a year since I have been to one. The first time ever I visited one, was in San Diego. Last May on vacation to visit my best friend who moved out there a few years back. It was amazing! Tons of different foods, plants, beachware, and drinks. And it was a huge event. I am not a fan of organic foods, but they had this garlic spread that was to die for! It was a shame that we spent over $20 bucks on this stuff, and well.. should have packed it in my luggage, and not my carry on. Airport security threw it a way for me..*sigh*

This Saturday event will now be something that we do on a weekly basis. We are trying to eat better, so what better way the farm fresh produce! The tomatoes were huge! Its a good thing I love tomatoes!! We also discovered a local coffee shop that has amazing coffee flavors. I think its better then Starbucks! Its called "Blessed Bean" and they are located in Casselberry. It was a dark roast, and rich in flavor, which is a winning combination! If you get the chance to go to the Lake Mary Farmers Market, check them out. You wont be disappointed.

Nest weekend, we are going to check out the one on Red Bug Road that was mentioned to me from one of my friends from the Patio. Since I am new to this, I need help and advice on the ones to go to, and the ones to avoid. If any of you reading this knows of a great place to go, please feel free to mention it to me. I will go and have a looksee:)

Happy Family Day

It's that time of the week again. What did you think I was going to say? That it's Monday again?? lol Well, its that too, but also time for my weekly blog session for my computer class in school. Are you excited yet? Yeah, I didn't think so, but I am going to ramble on anyway. Somebody just might see it and get a laugh or two so, why not!

We had a holiday this weekend, but I prefer to call it "Happy Family Day." That's what I did with my holiday.. Family. I have my reasons for not calling it "Easter," but I will keep that opinion to myself for the time being. Happy Family Day was spent with my extended family members, The Roketa's , at The Patio. I was also informed yesterday, that I am not "officially" A member of the Roketa clan, and it just totally made my day! We had a pot luck dinner with Cari and Rick  who provided the ham and corn on the cob to start. Then about 20 + people came over with their covered dishes and we had a ton of food to eat! After dinner was served, 2 family members hid the holiday eggs for every one to look for.. yes, even the adults had to look for them. I had fun doing it. I even scored 5 bucks!

 After all of the fun a merriment, we sat down to enjoy a fun and wacky game of "Cards Against Humanity." If you have even played it, you know how wild these card games can get!!! This game is always fun when you have lots of people playing. The best is listening to every ones picked responses to the question that was asked. I can tell you that if you get offended easily, then this game is not for you.

At the end of the day, we were all tired and had full bellies. I love the friends that I have, and if it had not been for myspace, I just don't know where I would be today. Because of a man Named Kenny Roketa, I have found my family. They always say you cant pick your family, but you can pick your friends... That's not true. You can pick family because they picked me!! THANK YOU for making me apart of this wonderful and loving family!!!

Happy Monday to all. The weekend may be over, but I did have loads of fun with family and friends all 3 days. I am lucky to know the people I do:) Started off on Friday with a card game on the Patio. just a few friends getting together to play a game called Hand and Foot. Its like rummy, but on steroids lol. Fun times indeed. I always have a blast with these people. They make you laugh and giggle and well, at times piss your pants. Yeah, I have been there on may occasions! But good times are always to be had on the Patio, so bring a towel just in case:)

 Saturday morning we time to visit with Kenli and help celebrate her 2ed birthday. My, how she has grown up in her 2 short years on this planet. Since Rosie has 4 parents now, you can imagine how many people were there to show love for this one little girl. Loved seeing her rosie cheeks and her saying love you. Made me tear up a bit. Got lots of pictures of her and all of her loved ones. She' such a joy and I am glad she' in our lives.

Sunday was the first Sunday night of our new pot luck crew get together. This was decided a few weeks ago at my wedding, as a way for all of to try and see each other at least once a month. It was a hit! So much food and fun for one day, but the patio peeps did it again!!! And the best part... No making food for tonight!

Welcome to my blog, Marys thoughts on stuff and thangs

Hello All.
   This is somewhat new to me. I have started blogs in the past, but its not something that stuck with my over time. I totally forgot the title, or where it was, or even what I named it. I started one 2 years ago about being a grandmother, but yet not. I am in the sense of the word, I just don't get to hear it. My daughter chose adoption. At the time, I didn't want it to be that way, I mean, this was my first grandchild, and I wanted to be the awesome grandmother I know that I can be. But as I look back over the last 2 years, this is how it was always meant to be. I am now very ok with how all of this went down.

 This is a little information about me and what I like and don't like.. ya know, stuff and thangs.. If you are a fan of The Walking Dead, then you will totally get that statement, tee hee. So, by that last statement, I guess you can tell that I am a big fan. I am. Its the only show on TV right now that I will sit down and watch. NO waiting on the DVR, the next day, or even next week. AS of now, its not back on till October, so my Sunday nights are at as loss, but only for a while. I am also so a fan Of Once upon a Time, Continuum, Revolution, and King of The Nerds. It might look as if I am always in from of the tv, but I am not. I prefer to be on the computer, or even watch Netflix. I hardly am ever camped out in front of the boob tube, even though its 50 inches.

 I am a reader and I still prefer paperback/hardback over Nook, or Kindle. I like the feel of the pages turning, or even dog tagging the corner of the pages. I love to read books by Nora Roberts, Nicholas Sparks, J.D Robb, Stephanie Meyer, John Saul, and many, many others. Right now, I am finishing the final book in The Hunger Games trilogy, Mockingjay. Cant wait to finish the book, and the  release of the movie coming in November. Woot Woot! Once I finish this last book, I will start on the book series beginning with the book Divergent. I hear its totally like, awesome dude!

I am a mother to 4 grown children, and many fur babies. I am an animal lover, and cant stand the fact that there are people out there who get a thrill out of harming them. I will totally cry at the smallest thing when it comes to animals. I allow my babies to sleep with me, kiss my face, jump on the couch ect. my animals, are family, so if you ever come to my house, you have to remember, they live there, you don't!
